I realize that staying up this late wasn't the best idea, but I drank a cup of coffee to stay up through the storms in case I had to race to the basement. I have difficulty hearing the siren and I've got fans going, so I just wanted to be alert as possible in case it came over the phone.

I get nervous about storms.
It's another one of my more dog-like features is that I get extremely nervous about storms and mostly spend those evenings in the basement with the laundry machines and my phone when we get a severe storm warning.
I'm one of the first that goes to the basement.
Now I've got coffee in me and need to force myself to bed.
