My mom grew up in Lahaina (yeah, the city on Maui that was completely destroyed by one of the worst modern wildfires ever) and I lived in Hawai'i as a teenager.
These are my only surviving photos from that time.
The Humpback Whale tail photo remains my only shot of a whale in the wild to date. 😭
If you haven't seen it, I HIGHLY recommend watching Ocean With Sir David Attenborough. It's both crushingly heartbreaking, and astonishingly hopeful. One of the most life-changing documentaries I have ever watched.
Protect our seas 💙 The future of the planet depends on it

Happy #WorldOceanDay! The most critical ecosystem on our planet. MUST be protected as much as possible! 💙
I don't get to the ocean often enough in my life, so it's always been extremely special every time I'm by it. The ocean touches my spirit deeply
Some photos from the South Texas coast in 2021
Been following Australian Wildlife Encounters on Instagram as they're traveling through the best country in the Middle East for wildlife, Oman. They found ALL the mammal specialties, including fricken CARACAL and STRIPED HYENA, which is mind-blowing.
Wow. I teared up watching this through my Meta Quest 3. Extremely moving. Space is extraordinary, and so is Mother Earth 😭

This sounds like a good one! Immediately put it on my want to read list

The last time I went #WhaleWatching (Oceanside, California in March 2021), we didn't see a single cetacean. It was very sad for someone who doesn't get to the ocean often enough in my life.
The seabirds were fun to photograph that day though, including this Black-vented Shearwater.
I was lucky to grow up going to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science yearly. They've had some really wonderful temporary exhibits over time, and I've missed some good ones since moving to the Ozarks.
This Sauropod exhibit tho!

Saw a Bobcat tonight across the street from my house at the edge of the woods. Within about 9 seconds it turned around and went back into the forest. SO SICK! I love living around wildlife! Day made!
This trailer is much better than the first one! I'll be glued to this series.
