I’ll bet it wouldn’t be hard to plant a rumor that Vance is scheming with Musk and Thiel on the premise that he will be running in ‘28 as incumbent. I’m sure that wouldn’t bother Trump at all.

This is the fundamental problem with 90% of Beltway reporting: it's all about tactics and who won the day. That what pols and their staffs do have profound effects on the lives of real people is generally ignored. In this case, the people hurt by Epstein never rate a moment of consideration.
What's fascinating to me about this is the tension between those who understand the obvious reason Trump wants to kill the Epstein files and those who are ignoring it, because they can't admit they support a man who seems to have such ugly secrets.
