“50/50 funding” was written for the Next Stop: 50-50 campaign, which calls on the provincial government to reinstate matching transit funding.
“My parents first met on a Winnipeg Transit bus on Ellice Ave in 1966, and I’ve been a bus rider my whole life, so I was glad to write a song about why the provincial government should restore and increase funding to public transit,” says Samson Fellows.
"Public transit is not simply a municipal service. It is critical infrastructure that supports economic growth, reduces congestion, lowers emissions and connects people to jobs, education and health care..."
