In this webinar, we introduce the movedesign R package and Shiny app, a simulation-driven framework to evaluate sampling strategies, quantify uncertainty, and support stronger study design decisions for projects and grant proposals.
We highlight the Trackyverse, a community-led initiative working to standardize tracking data formats, improve reproducibility, and foster the development of reliable, interoperable R tools, helping researchers turn rapidly growing tracking datasets into actionable science and management outcomes.
Effective movement ecology studies rely on smart sampling decisions, yet real-world constraints often force trade-offs that can weaken inference.
We have an open invitation for collaborators and coauthors, with two main ways to participate:
1️⃣ Sharing of historical and/or ongoing tracking data under our data-sharing agreement.
2️⃣ Deployment of new tags provided by the project on priority species*.
