Congratulations Paula on your second Teaching Award from the CMSZH Graduate School, well done 👏👏👏 @chem.uzh.ch @paulawdr.bsky.social
Congratulations Tara on your successful Bachelor's defence on Friday. Even though you've only been here for couple of weeks, you became part of the group so quickly. We will miss you and all the best for your future 💕✨ #chemistry #student #graduation #pisky #chemsky @michaljuricek.bsky.social
On Monday we celebrated Cyrill's successful Bachelor thesis defence! 🤩 Congratulations Cyrill on your excellent work, it was a pleasure to have you and we wish you all the best for your future✨ #chemsky #pisky #bachelorthesis
Congratulations to our PostDoc Marvin on his newest publication from his time in the Kubo Lab! 🤩👨‍🔬 Read all about it below👇 #chemsky #pisky #postdoc pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10....
Spent the evening yesterday celebrating Pauline's latest publication. A job well done - congrats!! 🤩🥳♥️ #chemsky #pisky @michaljuricek.bsky.social @chem.uzh.ch
A word of encouragement or a hug can go a long way. It helps us get through journeys where the end is so far away that we cannot even see it. The support of others makes all the difference. So give it if you can, and ask for it if you need it. ❤️ @paulawdr.bsky.social @paulinepfister.bsky.social

Interested in non-functional organic magnetic switches? We actually do want to make them work — that’s why we study the ones that don’t, so we can make them function :-) Check out our new preprint 🔗 chemrxiv.org/engage/chemr... @paulinepfister.bsky.social @chem.uzh.ch #ChemSky #PiSky

Open-shell organic radicals exhibit exceptional photophysical properties due to their unique electronic structures. Herein, we report the 2,5,8-tribromophenalenyl radical (Br-PLY) as a stable, emissive phenalenyl derivative. Br-PLY shows a monomer−π-dimer equilibrium in solution and emits light from its monomeric radical state. Its high air stability (t1/2 ≈ 40 h) and long-lived emission (τ = 252 ns) demonstrate the potential of phenalenyl radicals as promising luminescent materials beyond trityl-based systems.

🧐 Monoradical or diradical — that is the question! 🧩 In our new ChemRxiv preprint, we look underneath the cascades of reactive carbon π-radicals that can host more than one unpaired electron. 🔗 chemrxiv.org/engage/chemr... @paulawdr.bsky.social L.Valenta S.Richert @tomsolomek.bsky.social et al.
🔥Hot from the owen!🔥 What intermediates matter in the peri-fusion of zigzag edges? Big thanks to @paulawdr.bsky.social, Leoš Valenta, Sabine Richert, @tomsolomek.bsky.social and all co-authors for a great collaboration! @angewandtechemie.bsky.social onlinelibrary.wiley.com/share/UHMQHI...
