There's something quite exciting happening with AVIF and progressive rendering. Some recent patches let you provide custom 'frames' as progressive passes, so you can provide e.g. smaller blurry versions of the full image to use as a progressive pass.

Pete’s work on writing a book about the history of domains is one of the projects I am most excited about in 2026.

Kinda weird. Updating my nameservers for jsdate.wtf took down all of my other domains for a few minutes.

I forgot to update the nameserver records on this domain after migrating to Porkbun. Remembered for every domain except this one. Derp.

I accidentally the DNS for jsdate.wtf. Should be fixed now but may take a while to propagate.

It’s on a topic I’ve actually wanted to write about for years but made a decision not to write about on my personal site.

Made a new markdown file today.
