-Front page of today's NYT reports creation of world's first trillionaire.
-Lead op-ed of same NYT is about worst-ever Ebola outbreak, which *this VERY SAME trillionaire* enabled, with his "chainsaw" destruction of US public health in the world.

Just finishing Álvaro Enrigue’s Now I Surrender. Huge fan of his previous work, but this book is an utterly astounding achievement. Can’t imagine reading anything better this year.
On Friday I took my *luckiest* and *most disgusting* wildlife shot so far: a California sea lion (Z. californianus) puking up a bunch of rocks! 🤮🪨 That's right - many pinnipeds use gastroliths. The gastroliths are in mid-air! 🦖🐬🦑 #nature #photography #sealion
You should treat yourself and go back to “Sudden Death,” too, which revolves around a tennis match between Quevedo and Caravaggio. Anne Boleyn’s presence gives some support for the idea of tennis as the sport of queens as well as kings…or maybe not
Puccini: Nessun dorma
Trump: Sto dormendo
Love to close out a week with such a glowing review of Alvaro Enrigue's latest novel, NOW I SURRENDER, from @thenation.com
"Enrigue is no ordinary writer ... Against the savagery of imperialism, Now I Surrender offers the nobility of statelessness.”

oh my goodness - Lieu played Rubio a video of Trump sleeping while Rubio tried to talk to him during a cabinet meeting. Then this exchange:
RUBIO: I've never seen him fall asleep
LIEU: I'm gonna show you a video that shows you just lied to Congress
*plays another clip of Trump sleeping by Rubio*
