And! If you find the steamed veggies to be a little bland, just throw some season salt on them and I promise you they’ll slap, especially broccoli and cauliflower. I like Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning or the Slap Ya Mamma seasoning. Both work really well.
I don’t have a microwave but you can also just microwave the bag and have steamed veggies that taste fresh.
If you’re like me and find cooking healthy at home to be daunting, definitely check out the frozen veggies aisle at your nearest grocery store. It’s super easy, I promise.
I usually just throw them on top of the rice cooker in the steamer basket, cook two things at once.
Or like tonight, I emptied a bag of a Tuscan mix into a pan and sautéed them in some olive oil, then threw some pesto and whole grain pasta on top.
I love those little premade bags of frozen veggies.
In order for me to eat healthy I have to remove a lot of the effort that it takes and these help a lot.
Plus, they don’t go bad as fast so I can keep them around for longer and reduce food waste.
