Governments are chasing AI investment, even as their publics turn against the technology and the data centers that power it. Canada’s Mark Carney has chosen a shameless approach: to cast the opposition as a lack of “literacy” as he sets out to (re)educate Canadians about the benefits of AI.

Its almost as if the problem is vehicles and more importantly the people who drive them. Too bad we don't believe in holding driver accountable while operating danger machinery. I'm sure we will just put concrete bollards everywhere, that will fix the problem👌 www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

It’s the same with Carney’s “AI for All” strategy that is not really a strategy: it didn’t identify any real problems to solve. The only “problem” is that Canadians aren’t using “AI” enough. That’s why the National AI Literacy Initiative was proposed: to educate or cure Canadians of that problem.
I’ve officially resigned as Associate Editor for Frontiers in Systems Neuroscience. It used to be a reputable journal, but became a case study in how forced automation destroys academic integrity. 👇
