first wrote about this in 2022 but I maintain that though yes, sure, Britain isn't really built for heat, there's also the big problem of *British people* not being built for heat - if it gets very warm you do just have to adapt and build your life around the weather! and people here hate it!

Obviously there is aircon everywhere in Aus and the buildings are designed to be cool, but also life is different. When it hits 35C, Australians go out at 7am and then stay at home with the curtains drawn and the aircon on until the evening. I got invited to an outdoor unshaded lunch today at 1pm
