Happy to share the work by Fabienne Becker et al in #NAR, showing how yeast Tho1-CTD stimulates helicase activity of Sub2, homologue of human DDX39B/UAP56, by promoting Sub2 oligomerization on RNA. The scaffolding mechanism is shared across species:

@rtg2355.bsky.social PhD candidate Fabienne Becker from the Friedhoff lab recently presented her work on nucleic acid double strand unwinding by Sub2 & UAP56 DEAD-box helicases at the 2025 GGL conference @jlugiessen.bsky.social - the corresponding manuscript is close to resubmission! 😉
Very thankful to @embo.org for generously supporting Jan’s research stay at David Tollervey’s lab @edinburgh-uni.bsky.social with a Scientific Exchange Grant! - @rtg2355.bsky.social research
