It is really unique in how it handles socializing. Everyone is kind of a background character, you can't understand what they're saying unless you choose to introduce yourself to them. And you get tucked into a little community of people so there's an excuse to meet your neighbors.

So when you start out you're kinda running around this little world alone, but gradually you start running into friendly faces because you've met them and chatted before. They stand out in the crowds because they're colorful, and it really encourages you to say hi, to help each other with stuff, etc
Spirit Crossing is free to play (atm) and I adore it.
If you are looking for a very queer, neurodivergent, anarchist, community-building social game, this game is simple but beautiful and really well written.
