Pub of the Month! 💜📰 We’re excited to spotlight new research, recently published in Environment International, by Katie Land (WinRS Trainee Chair) and her fellow Hannon Lab members at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, in collaboration with their IVF clinic partners! 🔬✨
Scientists have their first proof that the ancestors of some mammals laid eggs, thanks to a 250-million-year-old fossil embryo discovered in South Africa in 2008. https://scim.ag/41E7C0p
Further confirmation that high AMH and AFC do not always mean oocyte quality. On the other hand, better ovarian reserve parameters could lead to higher number of mature oocytes, which is associated with higher live birth rates. Fertility is a delicate balance between quality and quantity!!!!!
So excited to be welcomed into such a supportive community of amazing scientists!! Cheers to good people and good science 🧬 👏 🎉

How do biological factors affect IVF success? Bahman Afsari et al. analysed 1,736 cycles: maternal age is the strongest predictor of live birth, anti-Müllerian hormone and antral follicle count influence oocyte/embryo stages, and body mass index has limited impact. 🔗 doi.org/10.1530/RAF-...
