Why not leave CPCNH? There's no guarantee that Eversource will always have the lowest rates. Then, municipalities — including ones that exit CPCNH — will be in the same position they started. They'll own the longer-term losses when a competitor is inevitably cheaper. 5/6 #NHPolitics

And I agree with Mr. Kreis here as well, “Let me be clear, your neighbors...are making a mistake by withdrawing from CPCNH. That is a knee-jerk reaction to near-term conditions, but it will have long-term adverse consequences.” 2/6 #NHPolitics

Dover's in the same boat. The City joined CPCNH to achieve competitive energy rates for our citizens and to capture innovation and consumer advocacy benefits that would drive prices down in the future. Competition is good. Free market and such, etc., etc. 3/6 #NHPolitics

In 2019, municipalities were allowed to change the default energy provider to Community Power programs. Many did. It's done. Switching again won't undo a wrong. Municipalities will be on the hook for the same consequences again. Ease of consumer mobility is what matters. 6/6 #NHPolitics

I guess we can thank public education that the Statehouse refuses to fund and is actively attacking municipalities’ ability to fund by sucking money out of districts with school vouchers. #NHPolitics

Don’t worry about your high property tax bill. The Statehouse will get the Business Enterprise Tax back to 1993 levels. Gifting more money to enterprises, sending that money out of state, and pushing costs to your property tax bill will fix it. Down is up. www.wmur.com/article/new-... #NHPolitics
