This is oligarchy.
Republicans have been able to survive and thrive mostly because the party is never blamed for its disastrous policy outcomes, including repeated global economic crisis, perpetual gun violence at home, and corporate oligarchy's rape of the public good. Finally, the GOP is getting well-earned blame.

The only reason police everywhere kill people experiencing traumatic mental health crisis, rather than subduing them, is because that's what they're trained to do. It's one of the terrible products of police lives becoming more culturally valuable than the people they're hired to serve and protect.

There it is, our political typology from Pew surveys. As expected, non-righties comprise a large majority (57%) of voters, provided the "Tuned-Out Middle" and "Left-Out Left" bother to vote.
Not to mention, now three needless, costly foreign wars against countries which were no threat to us.
