But surely they *would* be taking Makerfield if it were any other candidate. It's not like Labour can field Andy Burnham in every seat. I see the point, but I don't think we can project from the result in Makerfield to other seats. (Many will try to do just that of course.)

I have to accept sometimes that my inherent scepticism and cynicism of Burnham is down to me being a bit too politically engaged, because he is actually quite popular with most you come across (comparitively) and stuff like this is leagues ahead of what other parties are doing in terms of engagement

It might reduce the demand for cryptocurrency but that is a rubbish money and mostly for crime and speculation so I doubt its effects would be that large.
