A few pictures to celebrate a successful month of research and writing at the @britishlibrary.bsky.social! I am very grateful to @usf.edu for awarding me the Humanities Institute Summer Grant and the Faculty International Travel Grant, which made this possible. Next stop: Italy! 🇮🇹

Back at work in our wonderful workshop, “Teaching Anti-Fascism Today”! Today’s first session focused on “Engaging with Anti-Fascism outside the Classroom” @ilcs.bsky.social
“Teaching Anti-Fascism Today” is well underway. I was delighted to contribute to a session on “Anti-Fascism Teaching and Questions of Temporality,” where I discussed my experience teaching in Britain and the US alongside colleagues Marco Ruggieri, Marco Bernardi, and Daniel Brown @ilcs.bsky.social
“Teaching Anti-Fascism Today” at @ilcs.bsky.social is off to a great start with Paz Guevara’s keynote. She describes the “Global Fascisms Exhibition,” which presented fascism not only as a historical phenomenon but as an ongoing global threat that transcends its historically confined definition.
We're recruiting another Charles Wallace India Trust fellow to join us on our project "Confronting Climate Apartheid: Law, Economy, Culture" @durhamias.bsky.social in Jan-March 2027. Must have a PhD, work in humanities/social sciences, be a resident of India. Details: www.dur.ac.uk/research/ins...

Time for the last keynote of the “Teaching Anti-Fascism” workshop at @ilcs.bsky.social: @joemulhall.bsky.social (Director of research at @hopenothate.org.uk) in conversation with @amycking.bsky.social
After two stimulating panels, we are listening to Igiaba Scego’s keynote. A prominent Italian author of Somali heritage, her work directly confronts fascism’s enduring legacy—a very fitting ending for the first day of our workshop on “Teaching Anti-Fascism Today” at @ilcs.bsky.social.
If you are in London on May 21-22, please join us for our workshop, “Teaching Anti-Fascism Today: Developing and Shaping Practices,” at the @ilcs.bsky.social. You can find registration details and the schedule here: ilcs.sas.ac.uk/news-events/.... This event is open to all.
