It’s TCAF time this weekend, find us on the 3rd Floor of the Mattamy Athletic Center, table 268 with our comics creators @kangsanee.bsky.social @elainemwill.bsky.social @jeffmartinart.bsky.social @sheaproulx.bsky.social @sharksndonuts.bsky.social #tcaf #tcaf2026 #canlit #indiecomics
there's a moment early in the film of Ready Player One, where the voiceover says, "the only limit was your imagination", as the screen fills with pre-existing characters & IPs. It would one of the most on the nose satires of modern culture if not for the fact that it's meant entirely without irony
TCAF 2026 - find @elainemwill.bsky.social @kangsanee.bsky.social @sharksndonuts.bsky.social @alexanderfinbow.bsky.social @jeffmartinart.bsky.social @sheaproulx.bsky.social & their wonderful comics & graphic novels at at our table 268 this weekend at the Maple Leaf Gardens arena #tcaf #indiecomics

An old second edition Ork Kommando Nob. He's almost 9 editions old, now! #Nerdlings #FindFolkFriday
I still think of Ready Player One as a devastating takedown of the way our culture worships brands and corporate IPs that are recycled from Boomers and Gen X with no room for new ideas, fatally undermined by the fact that the author thinks it would be cool.
From selling off our critical public infrastructure, to gutting the public service, to subsidizing foreign petrochemical companies and now this - a regulatory and financial gift to the most pathetic 'innovation' in tech - the Carney government is damaging our country in ways that may never be fixed
