How does management affect forest recovery after disturbances? 🪵🌱🌳@kirstenkrueger.bsky.social developed a cool approach combining remotely sensed canopy heights with a theoretical growth model to compare recovery across different forest management types doi.org/10.1016/j.fo...
Excited to kick off this @biodiversa.eu project soon!🧑🌾🐻 uni-freiburg.de/enr/coexhub-...
Grateful for this opportunity to work with the brilliant @christinadollinger.bsky.social!
We're hiring! In the Future Forests excellence cluster, we're looking for a postdoc in participatory modelling. If you like modelling but are also interested in transdisciplinary research and co-creation with stakeholders, this position is for you! 🌲🤝🧑💻 uni-freiburg.de/en/job/00004...
In 2023, after a wave of severe forest disturbance across Central Europe, we made a big group effort of surveying post-disturbance regeneration. It involved a lot of scrambling through brambles, but also a lot of fun (and reassuring to see a lot of regeneration). Happy to see the results published!
New paper - and final PhD chapter of @lisa-mandl.bsky.social - published in Agricultural and Forest Meteorology. Using Landsat recovery and meteorological data, we show that thermal limitations constrain post-disturbance recovery success across forests of the European Alps: doi.org/10.1016/j.ag...
