Tethys appears as a pale and timid young woman with a slight blueish tint to her skin, and is a race that Jane had never encountered before.
She breathes through a medicated respirator, and must replace the filter often, or she has terrible coughing fits and struggles to breathe.

Jane soon discovers that Tethys has powers beyond any she has ever known. Yet, she's still resigned to her fate, believing that if she deviated from the path, all of existence could be at risk.
Tethys knows her end is near, but Jane refuses, deciding to fight fate itself to try to save her.
