I don’t even follow basketball and I am not from and have never lived in NYC but this thread is genuinely lovely.
In particular it strikes me that enviro minded Indonesians look up to 🇪🇺 way more than Europeans (+ a good chunk of Americans) do.
Obviously not everything is idealized (e.g., CBAM). But again, Europe’s policies in their eyes matter. The fact that we dont believe so is dangerous for us and for them.

IDN is turning to China, after all the economic giant in the neighborhood. But many factions are looking up to the West as a model of accountability, progressiveness. I wish we wanted to fulfill that model more.
