Roku is how I cut the cord of cableTV a decade ago (along with the launch of HBO GO.) I can access my streaming apps directly now with my smartTV but use Roku because of its familiarity. On the other hand, the Roku Channel already has way too many options for me to even bother to explore.
The software was so versatile and simple to use I almost didn't mind that it completely bricked my whole-ass 55" TV when it failed and couldn't be updated again at nine years old
