#FantasyIndiesJune Day 14 I'm not sophisticated enough to have maps in my books but I do have a map that was created for THE SWITCHGRASS CROWN (see image). It depicts the book's main locations at the Lake Avalon Resort.
I don't really have monsters, except the human kind. So they come in a spectrum of cute/attractive to not cute at all. #JuneWorldbuilders
There is an ancient temple artist known as Erenes (AIR-an-knees) who is credited with doing most of the painting and bas relief in the Metitas D'Durandios (chief temple) at Babelaver. He was supposedly beloved by Tegraphian, the ninata associated with art. #JuneWorldbuilders
Crowley.
I usually start with a character who forms in my mind. I begin exploring who they are, delving into them, figuring out their story. Sometimes they tell it to me directly. And sometimes I start with a scene or situation--almost cinematic--and build out from there. Always small to big. #pretendpanel
It is illegal to attempt to depict the gods Tithendion or Durandios, the idea being that no one knows what they look like and AElitians do not want to offend them. Instead, symbols of life are often substituted as stand-ins for Durandios, as are hands for creator god Tithendion. #JuneWorldbuilders
I keep "cut" files for everything I write. I don't like to delete anything in case I find use for it later, either in that story or a different one. Things are most often cut because I choose to take the story in a different direction, but I believe nothing is ever really wasted. #pretendpanel
AElit lacks progress in most areas, so the art styles are largely consistent over time. Similar to Ancient Greek in terms of statuary, frescoes, and architecture but more like Ancient Egypt when it comes to bas relief carvings. #JuneWorldbuilders
#FantasyIndiesJune Day 16 Cee is inspired by the strength of her feelings for Marcus and her sense of right and wrong, along with her growing self-worth.
#FantasyIndiesJune Day 17 How would they do on a roadtrip? Probably about as well as they're doing on this walking trip. And two of them are on a bus right now (in my WIP), and it's... rocky.
