PS. For speculative posts like this I do adversarial review with Opus. It was fascinating to watch Opus pivot from regurgitating conventional wisdom to actually engaging with the hypothesis and seeking external data.
A lot of 2026 American capitalism is exploitation of the vulnerable rather than mutually beneficial market exchange.
What percent of digital ads support a business model that relies on customer making a decision they’d reverse if they were thinking clearly? I’d guess 80% plus. Similar to daytime TV. Which explains a lot of enshitification. Including ad funded software and services.
Measuring this seems like a fun qualitative research project that would get some press.
