All they needed to do to keep me as a paying customer until the end of time was to not make gmail worse, but they just couldn’t help themselves. I guess I’m glad they did me a favor since I’ll save a bunch of money this way.
The Google None plan sounds awesome! For just $5/mo and they will stop forcing AI slop into your gmail.
I’m not sure it was worth it to reorganize the entire economy, evaporate desert lakes, poison the air, strain local power grids and violate the copyrights of every person who has ever created anything just to make web search worse.
For real, though, I was paying $15/mo for my business suite stuff plus $20/year for extra gmail storage and would probably have continued doing so forever. I cancelled the business suite already (don’t miss it at all) and am archiving old emails on my pc so I can get back to the free tier.
I think it matters if something is true or not.
