You have to have some sympathy for a film where the protagonists journey to meet God and the filmmakers named the dwellingplace of God after an actor who declined the offer to guest-star in it.
I wonder a lot what my former mentors make of the fact that so many of the young seminarians they helped to train up have left their denomination if not the Church entirely.

People will say the being at Sha-ka-ree isn't really God, and fair enough, but it's hard not to see this scene as also a commentary on the god worshipped by non-fictional people in the actually existing world.
