I’m a straight white man and I remember talking to one of my black friends who was about my age about how he didn’t really have people who looked like him in movies. Lando Calrissian, Apollo Creed, Mr. T. Not the leads either. Resonated with me especially as an uncle to kids who are part Asian one 🪡
Instead though we have man children whining about all these films who miss the point of the entire philosophy of these heroes- everyone deserves respect. Superman wouldn’t choose not to rescue a kid because he was black, or work with someone because they were black. Heroes are the idealized 🪡
