in pure numbers heat kills more people in Europe annually than guns do in the US.
No one sane would argue we don't have a gun problem in the US.
Europe has a serious heat issue they don't admit bc enduring heat is seen as morally virtuous.
Europe really use way less AC:

Europe’s cities can beat extreme heat by combining efficient air con with passive cooling to reduce emissions and energy use.
