You wouldn't want to miss one of the premier sources showcasing the wide potential of games as an artistic medium!
I don't think of the art/alternative/freeware/etc. games space as necessarily a strict "instead of" alternative to the commercial games space, but I feel like it is necessary for maintaining a healthy diet of games as an artistic medium.
