At some point as an online hockey community we went soft, because there was a time when these anonymous quotes would be dunked on for days.
I love how people can breezily be like “so much that divides people” like it’s a brunch menu when the division is over whether people should be dead or not
This is Nylander/Ritchie stuff.
That’s right. Even if you think Maholtra will elevate more in the playoffs, if he’s a 2C and McKenna’s a top 15-20 guy, there’s no decision.
Yeah, they were going nowhere so might as well blow it up. I just can’t believe how embarrassing it must be to put all your hopes on *Dylan Larkin*, for him to turn around and demand a trade because you’re so sorry. He’s not even that good!
it is darkly funny that his son got married and he was like "ohhhhh uhhhh something popped up, you know, the war, I gotta do work on the war that night, unfortunately I just can't go" and then 2 weeks later, same war still going on, he's shutting down midtown Manhattan to watch the Knicks
I think people forget that the Leafs fired him not because he was/is an asshole, but because by the end of his tenure he sucked.
I won’t pretend to know Larkin’s market, but if he’s limiting it to a few teams - and if The Athletic’s earlier return projections are any indication - it won’t be a haul. Doubt they get more for DeBrincat than they gave up. Barring falling into a star, I don’t see it for them.
