2/ Call it just-in-time learning: you don't study a subject and then go looking for a use. You hit a real problem, then learn precisely what it demands, in the moment it demands it.
What makes it work is what it leaves out.
7/ What did you learn just-in-time that stuck better than anything a course taught you?
4/ Indies are unusually good at this for three reasons:
1) they start building on day 1
2) they actually care about what they build
3) they use every available tool to move faster
And AI has collapsed the distance between "I don't know how" and "it's done."
3/ Most learning stalls because we front-load theory we don't need yet and forget before it's useful. Just-in-time learning flips the order — the problem decides what's worth knowing, and the wall you hit points to the one thing worth going deep on.
6/ The builders moving fastest aren't the ones who learned the most. They learned exactly enough, exactly when it counted.
5/ None of it depends on mastery. It depends on starting before you feel ready, which you never quite do.
A few years ago I used to think exactly that: how can I do this if I haven't learned it yet?
Most of "I'm not ready" is just fear dressed up as diligence.
Indie hackers already cracked the #1 skill of the AI era.
Demis Hassabis says the most important skill now is learning how to learn. Indies have been doing exactly that for years — they just never named it.

Claude Fable 5 is here.
The Mythos-tier, finally public.
📝 My takeaways:
• months of engineering → days
• reads a web app's code from a screenshot
• reroutes risky queries to Opus 4.8
• 30-day retention ends zero-retention deals
• 2x Opus: $10/M in, $50/M out
• free till June 22

Google approved our integration 👌
Roadmappy now connects to Google Calendar in 3 clicks — and that embarrassing "⚠️This app hasn't been verified by Google" screen is finally gone.
A few insights:
– took ~1 month
– lots of follow-up questions
– 1 rejection before passing

To avoid burnout, use this 30/30 rule:
After 30 min of work, quit and disappear into the mountains for 30 years.
Happy Friday!
