Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month begins today: a time to celebrate the diverse histories, cultures and ongoing contributions of GRT communities in the UK, and reaffirm our commitment to a fairer, more just future where nomadic ways of life are protected. #OnwardsWithHope
June is Gypsy Roma Travellers' History month. The theme is Onwards with Hope www.gypsy-traveller.org/wp-content/u...
And Labour is under orders from above not to work with the Greens in the UK's biggest council, having failed on so many levels to deliver for Brummies, now helping deprive us of a functional council. So much desperately needs to be done & could be done. I hope the other parties can find common ground

Industry Empire & Slavery @ Birmingham Cathedral. Learning about new research into gun-makers etc & others commemorated on the church walls with indirect slavery links. Good to see the work being done here.

Important to add that Green voters in Birmingham - Greens gained the biggest *vote share* even if this didn't translate to seats - will expect any new administration to uphold the principles of equality and anti-racism in every decision the council now makes

Love this image from yesterday's 1st Birmingham Council meeting. Green councillor, Hamzah Sheikh, hand-in-paw with a guide dog belonging to a Lib Dem councillor. A touching plea for connection & kindness: a timely reminder to unite around everything that inspires us, including our fellow creatures.
