The sunflowers started blooming. So has the yarrow. I love the tiny blossom on the alpine strawberry plant. The flavor of these tiny berries is amazing.

I saw this sort of thing on three sunflower buds. On the left is a ladybug. To the top right is a harvestman spider, which is not really a spider. The two seem to tolerate each other while warming up in the sun.

Effin' Birds
Everything is a facade, a cheap, tacky facade.
We are very free form type of gardeners. These photos are from the front yard, where we remove the lawn and replaced it with perennials and annuals. I love how they do their thing and mix together.

We had our first harvest of beets. One of those beets is not like the other, so long spindly.
I also harvested more garlic scapes. I’ve eaten so many scapes over the past two weeks that I am not surprised by the lack of vampires.
