does anyone remember the "Windows Experience Index" from vista/7, and did anyone *ever* get a score that was above like, a 4. even when i've watched videos covering decent-for-the-time hardware and they run the Experience Index as a bit, it'll be like "ngl... your computer kinda sucks..."

i truly understand feeling starved for visual depth and identity after living in a flattened world for so long. i am too. but are we really worshipping windows aero over here?! the UI that passive aggressively suggested that you buy better hardware to run it, lest you get stuck with Windows Basic!?

had a horrible realization today. i think i might be kind of a snob
that's not to say i am immune to nostalgia. i have an iMac G3 in my bedroom—and if you call that frutiger aero i'll blow you up—because that thing imprinted on me from a young age. am i a hypocrite? probably! but it fascinates me in many ways. context is just as interesting to me as aesthetics.
