Here are a selection of photos which show why it's such good news that the Church of the Good Shepherd in Batheaston will hopefully be saved (if only for the stained glass window). www.eberlin.co.uk/buildings/ch...
I think this was a generic development in Brixham but please check photo 3 to see the extent of surviving 1970s internal features. The hatch from the kitchen to the living area is a delight. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/1...
Now, this is intriguing. A former 1970s holiday chalet near Bude: www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/8.... If you've read my deep dive into Sladnor Park, the design similarities (and differences) is noticeable. In Bude the lodges were not elevated (literally). buttondown.com/WestCountryM...
Jefford House, Copplestone Drive in Exeter was built circa 1976 to 1983. The stepped terraces with balconies is rather nice but Exeter's love of brick continues to make its modern buildings a bit too stolid. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/8...
There are bits of that Tavistock house that I dislike, mostly its elevations, but the lovely thick plywood interior walls are stunning.
Ooh! Good news about the good shepard, @eberlin.co.uk.
MACHAN, on the edge of Gillan village, near Manaccan on the Lizard peninsula was built in the 1930s for a man who was a wholesale meat merchant and used in WW2 to accomodate evacuated children...old b&w postcard shows it had a few less curvy bits then
Last for now: I can't work out if this is a modernized 1970s house or a contemporary house that has chosen to clad its ceilings in 1970s orange pine. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/8...
This 1970s Scandi house near Tavi is a mere £685,000 and has had a single owner since it was built. Sunken bath in a carpeted bathroom, anyone?
Maccan, a 1930 moderne house with an unknown architect, is still for sale in Cornwall. If you have £4,295,000 and like curved furniture. Listed on UK moho - ID 2876 Not apparently listed nationally or locally. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/1...
