I really disagree. It's very difficult to know what someone's true intentions are. Many people don't know themselves. What does Bush's intent materially change about his choice to push a baseless conspiracy theory and order one of the worst campaigns of violence the world has ever seen?

The intent of a system is what it does.
Your grandpappy was part of a system to dominate, control, and hurt women. Perpetuating that system of violence when it was stronger than today instead of interrupting it doesn't make him a more moral character.
