NEW: A Fulton County judge threw out a conspiracy-fueled lawsuit seeking to open Georgia's election-night operations center — where votes are received and published — to far-right observers.
The GOP-led effort was widely seen as an attempt to invite partisan interference in the state's elections.
NEW: California Gov. Gavin Newsom said the DOJ has been trying to question his friends, family members and former employees as part of an investigation into him.
Newsom, an outspoken Trump critic, said the probe is retaliation for his opposition to the president and his political aspiration.
