as a sumptuous Father’s Day gift! A reminder that the Romans loved, loved colour and an outward display of status was an opportunity never to be refused. And one of the highlights of my degree was working through the politics of a Roman opiate villa and the relationship but public and private.
Collinson. They don’t seem to have done much work after this film although they were very young at the time at 19. Peter Cushing is superb as the witch finder who loves to burn young attractive, innocent girls but by the end has thoroughly enjoying my hammer journey become a hero of sorts!
This was followed by the 1971 kiss of the vampire or the twins of evil which is a bizarre title as only one twin is evil. I loved this but you can tell censorship has been relaxed between 1966 and 71 as we have boobs in this film. The twins were Maltese identical twins called Mary and madeleine
Very much continuing to mine the new seam of hammer horror films. Last night I got in double bill! 1966 plague of the zombies. I don’t especially like the zombie genre as it’s wildly dull. However this was superb and well led by Andre Morrell. And of course it is set in Cornwall.
Great hammer film last night. The kiss of the vampire. 1963. A wonderful gothic based in Bavarian and a young couple who walk into a tiny village holding a dark secret. Vampiric cult!
They have certainly captured the nobility of the lion here…however…
