My photos
had bus numbers and license plate numbers
And the dude who yelled at me had walked into the photo, without me realizing it at the time.
This is exactly why @visionzeroottawa.bsky.social has started a Close Calls campaign - we need to collect incidents like this that the city doesn’t count! visionzeroottawa.ca/posts/closec...
What if we came back from vacationing in great cities around the world and made the great things about them legal in Canadian cities? #UrbanTruth
Reminder the city spent $28m; didn’t plan for winter; didn’t meet its own accessibility requirements; created guardrails that make it less safe; missed opp to create lookouts and views to promote an “instragammable” moment; it’s good, better than nothing, but is it good enough? bit.ly/41M0xKu
It was once one of the best around; internationally studied and valued, and used as a model in other places; decades of austerity budgets, undermining of maintenance and watering down of effectiveness is where we are today; election promises haven’t been kept. We need a city that works.
The City doesn’t track close calls. We do. Tell us about your close call and we will present this information to City leadership.
.... and biking by Lansdowne, a school bus blocks the bike lane, I stop to merge safely into traffic, another school bus driver yells at me to get out of the way, and a third school bus in front of the first bus tries to cut me off. I took photos and got your bus numbers, you dumb entitled f**ks
What if the things we love about the cities we visit on vacation weren’t illegal in OUR city? #UrbanTruth
It would be hard to come up with a public service shittier than OCTranspo.
And nearly impossible to design a city council that gives fewer fucks about it than Ottawa’s.
