So Starmer is gone. He's now irrelevant. So why, given all that is going on in the world, are our media people dedicating all of their attention to silly things like comparing his resignation speech to previous PMs?
Maybe one day our media will grow up, but it clearly is not today.
It's been the same pattern for over a decade: politician comes in, UK media spends all of its time and energy grasping for every little straw so they have something to bully the politician relentlessly with, politician then gives up and resigns. Rinse and repeat.
If that happens once or twice, maybe it was just a bad politician, a bad bunch even. The regularity and extent to which it happens now is just a de facto sabotage campaign.
Why doesn't UK politics work? Because the people who have the most control over the information flow have chosen to be malign.
Yes, why not "fix Brexit" by engaging in an act that would be even more financially and socially devastating. That will work out well, I'm sure.

As Starmer was unable/unwilling to make any progress to rejoin the EU, Scotland should be allowed to run another referendum for independence. Time to stop the economic bleeding.
