I really thought I had commented on Gordon Wood's passing, but I was remiss in just liking some posts and getting distracted.
Such a senseless death. He was a priceless treasure to our field. Even my mom was a fan of his work.
Let us hope to do well to continue his legacy.

I was at the same conference. Wood was in top form—at the age of 92.
Strangely enough, I took a moment to thank him for his support over the years—from grad school on. A kind and generous man—as well as a brilliant scholar.
