• JI was out for the season with an injury.
• He wouldn't sign a contract extension with the team, so he was going to be a free agent and never play another game for the Bulls anyway.
• He's been posting anti-gay rants on Instagram.
• The Bulls decided to just release him.
There was quite literally no reason for the Bulls to keep him around since he was going to become a free agent anyway, so it makes sense that they'd cut him. But man, Fox News and others on the right are going to be absolutely insufferable about this in the coming days.
