My Dad loved furries. He loved fursuits, he loved everything I did with the cons, the charities, and most importantly to me, he adored Ed. Really specifically the MbM version of Ed, with the thighs.

Being a hamster brought me so much joy. And he saw that, he loved that, he encouraged it, helped pay for bits of my suits! How can I let this beautiful thing go, knowing he loved it so much for me? He would want me to stay. To be happy.
I've been my Dad's carer for the last 3 years. I moved in to help him through chemo and I stayed when his health just wasn't the best.
While at CFz my Dad was taken into hospital and ended up in the ICU. Yesterday at 7:30pm he left us, with family there. I love you. I'm lost without you. So lost.
I had decided I wanted to take a break from the fandom. I was wrapping things up, I'd stepped down as head of art show at CFz, was prepared not to go next year, and thought I just needed a time out. I have, since, changed my mind.

I promise you Dad I will look after the house, our cat Purrdy, my siblings, and, importantly, I will live a happy life full of love and friendship like you wanted for me. I will do you proud. Ed will do you proud. I love you, endlessly, I miss you more than anything in the world.
He loved how supportive you all are. What wonderful friends I have because of it. I am going to do my best to keep being ham. Keep making happy memories. Do things I think "man, I wish I could show Dad this". Thank you, furry, for all of this.
