Tax the super rich, because in reality there is no justification for this absolute grift by the 1% . #nzpol #TaxTheRich #TaxJusticeNZ #OneTermGovernment #NZ ✅✅

NZ #Beneficiaries sanctioned with money management cards unable to pay rent, govt data shows, risking #homelessness. #sanctions for non-complying Jobseekers locks 50%benefit into cards that cannot be spent on rent-but average beneficiary spends 53%+ of income on housing www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...
Simple question that unlocks a lot. All else equal, if Government increases spending by $10bn next year will there be: (a) $10bn more in the economy to pay taxes / buy bonds (b) $10bn less in the economy to pay taxes / buy bonds (c) no difference to the amount of money The answer is absolutely (a).

A great peice, share widely.
Right, a proper look at that May 2026 benefit data. People claiming a working-age benefit increased by 8,040 people over the year to May 2026. That's pretty much bang on 2% - double population growth. So, yeah, it's shit. Here's the areas that have had it grimmer... Auckland wtf. [🧵1/n]
