𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗘 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗗𝗘𝗘𝗡 🕊 This evening, we note the passing of Anne Schedeen (known to those who loved her as Annie) at the age of 77, best remembered as the patient and grounded Kate Tanner on the hit NBC series 𝘈𝘓𝘍 (1986–1990).
#OnThisDay 1976: The Gong Show debuted on NBC. 🎉 50 years ago, Chuck Barris unleashed one of television's most gloriously chaotic creations. Part talent show, part train wreck, viewers never knew whether they'd see genuine talent or someone get GONGED within seconds.
#OnThisDay in 1977: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙡𝙙𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙔𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙬 debuted on CBS. The married mime duo became one of the most recognizable novelty acts of the 1970s, known for the signature routine, The Clinkers, where they portrayed robots through with precise movements.
𝗥𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹 (𝟭𝟵𝟯𝟭–𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲) 🕊 Remembered as Marine Pvt. Duke Slater, the savvy "city-boy" friend to Gomer Pyle. Prolific film/TV actor, and was a voice artist; 'Jason' from Battle of the Planets!
#OnThisDay 1973: 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙒𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧 debuted on ABC. Siblings that hate each other run the family pickle business in order to inherit $75K each from their "dying" father. 9 episodes.
#OnThisDay 1989: 𝘿𝙤𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧, 𝘿𝙤𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 debuted on CBS. Starring Matt Frewer, the series followed the eccentric Dr. Mike Stratford, a Providence physician/author whose local celebrity as a TV advice doctor complicated both his professional and personal life.
💀 #OnThisDay 1989: HBO introduced viewers to 𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙧𝙮𝙥𝙩. And right from the start, the Cryptkeeper made it clear this wasn't your average television show. "Remember when your mom said reading comic books would rot your brain? Well, she was right!"
#OnThisDay 1989: Tales from the Crypt debuted on HBO. Hosted by the pun-loving Cryptkeeper, the E.C. Comics-inspired horror anthology became one of cable TV's biggest hits. The strangest part? A show known for gore, profanity, and nudity spawned a Saturday morning cartoon. Only in the '90s...
Pics of Anne Schedeen (wowza!) circa 1985 when she was appearing on the ABC TV movie/pilot 𝘽𝙧𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙧 with Carl Weathers, showing that she could play a range of character types. In case you missed it, Schedeen (who you undoubtedly remember from ALF) died yesterday at age 77.
8-year-old me is giddy. You too can be second season 'shoot first' Koenig! www.masterreplicas.com/en-us/collec...
