Exactly this. I became a campaigner to stop a designated site of nature conservation interest from destruction in my community in Knowle West Bristol. I was renting a tiny one bed flat with no green space but being called an elitist nimby by millionaire politicians with massive gardens.
Another lovely morning volunteering at my local nature reserve, Manor Woods Valley, keeping the scrub growth from growing over the wildflower meadows and the orchard.
We already know who won the local elections today… it’s nature!
We are witnessing the death of ‘Build, baby build’ but will a massive loss tonight push Labour to finally ditch their anti-nature policies?
