It’s going to be another dangerously hot day. The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. If you need a safe, cool place to escape the heat, these Durham County Library locations will operate as cooling centers during their normal business hours:
Everyone is at risk from the dangers of high temperatures, but some groups are more vulnerable than most. Take extra precautions to protect yourself if you are in a higher-risk group, and be sure to check in on vulnerable neighbors and loved ones!

Note: Our social media manager made this graphic at the end of a long day and somehow did not think to just use a stock photo of a child until it was already posted. But this drawing looks like a real photo right? 😅
*It is most definitely not a million degrees outside, but it is very very hot. Please be safe.
We're pretty sure it’s a million degrees outside.* Please spend as little time outdoors as possible, but if you have to spend time outdoors, drink plenty of water, spend time in the shade when you can, & watch out for signs of heat-related illness! Call 911 immediately in the event of a heat stroke!
