Takes literally 1 minute, very quick. With changing political climate, worth making your UK voice heard if this is your view. Petition closes June 8th 2026.
We have two job openings in my lab currently — for a postdoc (100% FTE some teaching four years) and a postdoc/phd student (75% FTE no teaching three years). Check them out at www.uni-luebeck.de/aktuelles/be...
We believe Brexit's not working. The OBR judges that the UK economy is smaller and trade is weaker because of Brexit, and it will just get worse. 10 years after the Brexit vote, let's apply to rejoin ...
Many thanks for your support @maggiechapman.bsky.social - the townhall with the excellent presentation by @melchem.bsky.social @ducuuo.bsky.social countering the doom & gloom narrative of uni exec finance, used as justification for further cuts, is still available as a recording to all staff.

These past few weeks the fight for our uni has taken a new turn. We've lost ~700 staff already. Will it be 1000 in the end, with the management's "Strategy to Recovery"? Unis as a business vs as a place of research & education - coming to a head in Dundee and across the UK. More ⬇️

Last week I attended the staff Townhall meeting @dundee.ac.uk.
Dundee UCU told us about staff cuts, the impact of redundancies, & the urgent need for new direction.

Read about our latest protest about getting our members voices heard before crucial decisions are made at the University of Dundee Court.
Today members of the Dundee UCU branch protested against their voices not being heard.
“We are disappointed to learn that a paper that Dundee UCU was invited to submit to Court for inclusion in the Court’s workshop on University’s recovery was rejected without appeal.” 1/4

£20m more staff cuts being put to the University’s Court today.
Around 250 people will be made redundant if the plan goes through and remove all of that £20m every year from the local economy and high street.
Over 1000 staff gone.
