What??? No! Thatâs so crazy! As a former tech worker I canât even imagine a situation in which I, a woman, would experience this exact situation! Certainly not every single goddamn day or anything.
This dates to 1879, and is far as I know is the first published "walks into a bar" joke. (The Sumerian "joke" that's often cited as the proto-joke is a stretch.) Will it endure another century-and-a-half? I have thoughts in this week's post on The Long Bar.

How soon we have forgotten Andrew Jackson's Inauguration, where they put out barrels of Punch for the crowd, who rushed in, fought for them, knocked some over, drained the rest and brawled away the evening. Utterly Jacksonian, if Jackson had had bone spurs.

Shake well with cracked ice:
2 oz aged Barbados rum
1/2 oz orange curaçao
1/4 oz raspberry syrup
1/2 oz lime juice
Place squeezed-out shell of half a lime in a bucket glass. Pour the drink in, ice and all, and garnish with a couple of raspberries.
(That Funkadelic video, by the way, is one of the things in this life that gives me pure, unadulterated joy.)

When utilized in literature review, LLMs consistently 1. fail to mention female authors in female-led literatures, 2. insist that men are more influential or more heavily cited when this is contradicted by objective citation counts, and 3. attribute womenâs work to hallucinated male scholars.
